Crime can’t crack itself – which is why the German tuner AC Schnitzer has equipped the German police with this, a specially modified BMW 428i coupe. Making its debut at the 2013 Essen Motor Show in Germany, the tuned bee-em gets some rather interesting modifications. Some of which we can see being useful for catching criminals, some of which might be more of a hindrance in chasing down felons…

The new Kia Soul EV (pictured) has been revealed in Chicago
The Kia Soul EV is Kia’s first effort at a proper mass production EV, and if you’re looking for an electric car it does look promising. Due to go on sale later in 2014 in the US – initially in California, New York and Oregan because of their charging infrastructure – and, Kia promised, the UK and Europe later in 2014 or early 2015, the Soul EV offers a real world driving range of 80-100 miles from a recharge taking half an hour for 80 per cent on a rapid 50kW charger or up to 5 hours for a full recharge from a UK 240 volt supply. The range is helped by Kia’s third-generation regenerative braking system which manages to capture 12 per cent of the car’s kinetic energy, feeding it back in to the battery as electricity during braking and coasting, with four different regeneration modes.
The recently facelifted SEAT Ibiza now gets its hot hatch credentials back in order with the arrival of the 2013 SEAT Ibiza Cupra. The changes amounted to the new SEAT nose with a new grill and headlights and a crease up the bonnet, a set of bigger air intakes, a new bumper and lights at the back and a very small titivate for the interior. Now those modest updates have been applied to the 2013 SEAT Ibiza Cupra – as previewed by the Ibiza Cupra Concept at this year’s Beijing Motor Show – as well as a set of LED running lights, a set of butch bumpers and a big hexagonal exhaust tip at the back.
